I would like to independently confirm what Doug told you. I use both SDT and FoxFix. I put the SDT tools like Reindex [and pack], Repair Tables and Update Database into my apps for users to actually have access to and run if needed. I do not have FoxFix in my app.

If a user has that bad of a problem, I connect via modem, and manually use the appropriate FoxFix library to try to fix the problem. I, of course backup what they have to a NEW backup source. If the problem can not be fixed, then I rely on previous backups.

It is also important to educate customers NOT to do a backup AFTER a disaster strikes. You might be surprised how many will run a backup when something bad happens. Inevitably, they use the same tape from their last backup, and over-write the only good set of backup data they had. I also stress the importance of multiple tapes and cycle them -- i.e., don't backup to the same tape 2 days in a row.
