I assume you used the Setup Wizard and specified 1.44MB diskettes as the target. The wizard will create a folder called \DISK144, and below that subfolders titled DISK1, DISK2, etc.

I assume you copied ALL the files in each subfolder to separate diskettes.

If that is the case, it should work. The only issue I have run into is with VFP5, if the .EXE name is the first one in alphabetical order in the list of included files, sometimes the Setup Wizard doesn't re-build the .EXE properly during installation. The solution in that case is to include a dummy file, A.TXT, in the same folder as the .EXE so it is the first file.

If your diskettes are not brand-new you might look for hidden files or viruses which could eat up space, and cause not all of the files to be copied for each diskette. A good virus check would be a good idea anyways.

If you have tried brand new diskettes, it might be a head alignment issue. Are you trying to install the program on the same computer that created the diskettes? If the floppy drives have slightly different alignment tolerances, then they will be able to read and write their own floppies OK, but not read those created by another drive.

If you have access to a third computer (i.e. other than the notebook) try the installation to it.

The fact you are installing to a notebook PC is not an issue, as long as the drive is properly installed and configured and its external cable (if any) is properly attached. You may also want to make sure the notebook PC is on wall socket power to eliminate any possible issues with low battery.
