Grids can get really tricky when they involve related tables. Sometimes they don't refresh if the cursor is in the grid or sometimes you need to move the record pointer. Even after you have all the bugs worked out and your testing things, once in a while they still won't refresh. This kind of thing will happen so infrequently there is no way to track down the problem. I just write it off as a glitch.
