>I have installed a hp8250i cd writer on a nt4.0 sp6a machine it worked one time and now is not reconized at all. It would not run on my win2k machine either. Does anyone have a suggestion to what would be a good replacement as this one is going back to the shelf.
You might try just downloading updated drivers from Adaptec's Web site if you have the retail version of EZ CD Creator; it works with my HP, but I have the retail Adaptec release, not the OEM release that came bundled with the drive; Adaptec released patches for Win2K for the retail version several months ago, but I don't know what the status is for the OEM versions.
