>>I often dont bother participating in future threads those people get involved with becuase I dont have the time nor the patience to sort thru all the bogus replies. So that hurts the person who started a thread if other participants are driving away valid commentary, it hurts the offenders because I for one (and I'm betting I'm not alone) purposedly avoid helping a few people up here because of the amount of spam they create, and that hurts the forum in general.
>
>"those people" As I said to Mr. Coates in an open public place there are going to be folks that may be an annoyance to others. That fact has to be accepted and you certianly have the right to choose whom you help with your time and knowledge.
>

I can sympathize with oRox here; it's really annoying to get dropped kicked with replies that you have no particular interest in; I know that with certain people in a thread, I dare not make even a joking remark, or I'll be bombarded with dozens of forwards that I really don't have an interest in or time to deal with. The easy solution is to not get into threads with the overly forward people...and the twit filter does help weed them out.

There's also the (possibly) non-issue of the overhead from the pointless forward to anyone who ever responded in any way, even to say "Stop. Cease. This is (pick one or more of: boring, obnoxious, overly silly, covered in detail in another thread, ought to be in a FAQ somewhere, too PC, not PC enough, coated with Marshmallow Fluff, needs a minor typo fixed, etc.)"

So, yeppers, oRox is not the only one annoyed at least to the extent that it's better to not make any reply than risk infinite SPAM, especially from people who don't realize that they can selectively quote messages. I don't need 6,432 lines quoted back to me to see "Me, too" added at the end...

>>And let's not forget the scenario where people who have the most to offer up here probably have a limited amount of time to offer help to those looking for it... so that half hour spent cleaning out span replies isnt spent helping people.
>
>If there are those that REALLY have to spend that much time dealing with forwarded messages then you are right. Again, as I have stated it seems the only solution would be to limit forwarding to the priviledged or remove it all together.
>

I'm in favor of the later. Let me indicate what threads I want to follow, rather than have someone dictate to me that I look at their message...

>Well I hope that you feel better, but you have really offended me but that is ok.. I'm just a nobody here and it really does not matter in the greater scheme of things now does it?

This is where the twit filter comes in. You take offense at oRox's rant (a mild one). To avoid further annoyance, put her in your twit filter. oRox already knows where the twit filter is and what it's used for...
