Thanks Nick. The document fills in a little bit of the puzzle - but it still is far from complete and I suspect contains a few mistakes.
It seems strange to me that there appears to be no official MS document that defines exactly how their ActiveX controls work.
Anyway I have enough information to be able to move forward with my project. Thanks once again.
