I paid a visit to the client's site, and found that they had not followed the README and ran the MDAC_TYP.EXE,
and when they did, they did not login as administrator, therefore the NT machine would not install them.
Once I stepped through all this, all came together as they were supposed to, and the sample SQL commands worked just like they were suposed to.
One must remember (as least I do) is not to think the world is collapsing and check through the basics first, like a good coder should.
Once that was done, credibility and self confidence return, <g> And I though I was too old to get excited!
I did note that once the correct OBDC drive was installed, even before going in to control panel and setting up the ODBC configuration, the SQL query started working just fine (Good 'ol NT). Anyway, thanks all, and the client is happy too!.
