**UI talks to a Proxy object... not quite the same as the big heavy do-it-all bizobj but a much cleaner and more flexible implementation for n-tier**

What you're seeing is the architecture specified by Microsoft's Windows DNA...an Emissary on the UI talks to an Executant in the middle tier. The Emissary qualifies requests before sending them to the Emissary to keep down both network and database traffic.

I've also implemented this architecture in what will become the next full version of Mere Mortals. We've got it installed in several sites on both the desktop and the Internet that have a large number of simultaneous users and a huge number of daily transactions...and it's extremely fast.

The next version of the Framework will also include a sample web application implemented with Active Server Pages (and if Rick has his way with West Wind Web Connection too!).
