Hi Walter

Yes that is what I am doing but in some cases the parent level can have several thousand nodes. Since there is no load on demand feature I am forced to load the entire parent node collection and thus the slow speed.

Thanks
Simon

>>I have been reviewing ActiveX controls for a possible replacement to Microsoft's standard treeview. So far the best one I have seen is ctTree from DBI-Tech. The main reason for my search is the slow speed of loading nodes. It really gets slow after a 1000 nodes. I may have several thousand nodes at anyone time.

I like being able to specify the parent when adding child nodes. Some controls just allow you to set an index value. I also like to find items by typing the first few letters and have the treeview scroll to the nearest match.
