Delete the CDX file by issuing DELETE TAG ALL. If you insist on commiting seppuku, the structure of the DBF headers is documented in the OnLine help in the Appendix of the Programmer's Reference; you can rewrite the header using low-level file I/O; I don't have code to give you, and strongly recommend using DELETE TAG ALL rather than just erasing the CDX file.
