Thanks for the reply... I like simple but this will require me to duplicate all the code that changes the grid header I think... Also I want to do this "on the fly" for grids that have no record source but might display several different tables or views...

Basicly right now it works great as long as its a table... just wanting to add views to it.

I think you should try to create all of your tags in the Init of the Grid and/or Form and forget about trying to do it in a method kicked off by a header click. It seems inefficient. This way, on the grid click, you can simply SET ORDER, and all the code to check if the tag exists or not becomes unnecessary.
