Hi, all...
A question about 'physical order' of VFP tables and SQL performance...
Our company has several large database history tables (some have RECCOUNT() of several million.) I/we've understood for some time now the value of keeping the physical order reflective of the way we typically query the database (by acct/item/date).
A few in our company have been 'skeptical' of this, even though I've shown that querying can take a second or two with one database (where physical order is acct/item/date) and up to a minute or more with one that isn't ordered.
Can anyone give any 'advanced' details on this (or even point me to Knowledge Base articles) on this?
TIA,
Kevin
