What version are you using? In VFP6 there is a choice of font color in the lower left of the font dialog.

If you bring up the color toolbar it will allow you to choose the foreground or background color of a line or shape. When I tried it with a thin line it didn't look like it did anything, but with a thick line it showed up easily.
