How do I append data from Excel 97 using FoxPro 5? I've tried:

append from xxxx type xl5

but as you can probably guess, it didn't work.

Please don't say that I've got to tell the users to save the work into an old version. I'm hoping a there is a patch or something.

Would this work in VFP6?
