Thanks for the reply Andy/Larry,

We have just tried the running the procedure using a Pentium II with 128 meg of RAM, and although the results were slightly quiker, there wasn't any significant difference.

We are currently creating and storing all temporary files on the users PC and not the server.

The following is more details on the system and any help would be gratefully recieved.

The Workstations
-------------------------
RAM: 128Mb
Disk space: at least 734Mb out of 3Gb
Virtual Memory: 75Mb
CPU: PII-350
Network card: 100/10Mbps

The Network
------------------
Although the network is running at 100Mbps the server and some workstations are running at 10Mbps. I have used different workstations as the server but this made no difference.

VFP Configuration
--------------------------
Version: 6.0 part of the Visual studio
(Locking and buffering settings)
Automatic file locking is not checked
Multiple record locking is not checked
buffering is off
reprocessing is set to attempt lock (default)

The Program
-------------------
The program has built in error and locking routines which use the rlock() function to test for locks. This seems to be working fine.

Thanks

Steve
