It's partially a network issue because Novell could not wrap files to protect it resulting to corruption of cdx and dbf as well everytime there is technical breakdown or abnormal termination of program. This type problem is also quite normal in a standalone system or peer to peer networking. If Reindexing the file couldn't fix it, you have to rebuild all index, or by just replacing the cdx file with your backup and reindex it.
