I'd like to try the Microsoft driver but I can't get it to work.
The following is a sample entry in the TNSNAMES.ORA file which I am now using. If I define the server as "dataname.world" in the driver setup for the MS driver it can't find the database.
dataname.world =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS_LIST =
(ADDRESS =
(COMMUNITY = tcp.world)
(PROTOCOL = TCP)
(HOST = hostname.company.com)
(PORT = 1521)
)
)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SID = dataname)
(GLOBAL_NAME = dataname.world)
)
)
If I try using a string such I am not sure what the DSN entry is supposed to
be.. a specific table in the database (this would limit me considerably) or the host name? Neither works.
BTW, the Oracle driver works fine connecting.
