I'm in the same position. Take a look at west wind and AFP. Set up your own web server (I'm trying to use personal web server which is not recommended by the west site but is very cheap (free) as an entry point)and get stuck in. West wind has a lot of very good information AFP perhap less so. There is a lot to take in buts its a very interesting area..
