Thanks for responding, Doug.
>StudentYear: iPKStudentYear, iFKStudentID, iyear
>AwardsAppliedFor: iPKAwardsAppliedFor, iFKStudentYear, iFKAward, lApproved
>Awards: iPKAward, cDescription, iAmount, etc.
>StudentPeriod: iPKStudentPeriod, iFKStudentYear, iFKAcademicPeriod, iFKAward
>AcademicPeriod: iPKAcademicPeriod, ...describes period ...
>How about relating StudentPeriod to AwardsAppliedFor instead? IOW:
>StudentPeriod: iPKStudentPeriod, iFKAwardsAppliedFor, iFKAcademicPeriod
Looks like that would work also, but the relationships would still be circular, I think (If I'm understanding it right). The tables would be more closely related...
AwardsAppliedFor and StudentPeriod both relate to Awards...
Guess I'm a bit confused...is this circularity necessarily a "bad" design?
Thanks for your input, J
