You could create a public application object, based on the custom class. I like this approach, because I can add custom code to it as well. Also, if I ever decide to turn the screen off, then it's no problem.

In former days, I would have just made a Private ( or even Public ) array that I could reference throughout the PRG and its UDF's. Here I was just trying to make the variable reference in OOP terms.
