And no one should take my remarks personally either. I am not and was not saying by any stretch of the imagination that asking a question that can be easily found within the docs is in any way, shape, manner or form a bad thing or wrong. VFP is a huge language. Some of the functionality is not necessarily easy to find (see the SYS() functions). I certainly don't mean to deter anyone from asking a question. I was simply saying that it
seems like folks are posting questions in some instances
without having checked the docs. I don't think that, in and of itself, in
some situations is bad. The point is that it
seems as if this sort of thing is on the increase. If so, I see it as a bad thing simply because people are depriving
themselves of the knowledge that comes with having researched something (see Cindy's post). I can't tell you how much I've learned from researching the docs trying to find an answer to how to do something.
