What you describe I basically did using different coding. The real problem was determining if the value had changed in the second field. I found the only way was to un-enable every field and command on the second page leaving only the to-be changed field and testing if it was changed. If it was not, I figured the best way was to go back to the first field and reset it's value to the original value. Unfortunately, it forces the user to start his change again. I found this technique to be 'idiot proof'.
