Nigel and Jess are correct that the control's DblClick need to call the grid's DblClick, but if you've done that, and are still having the problem, try a triple-click. If that works, then what you're seeing is that the first click isn't counted as part of the check for DblClick because that first click is setting focus to a record. Double-clicking on a record that already has focus should work as expected.
