I've got a web site on IIS4 utilizing ASP pages & VBScript which I'm trying to integrate with a SQL Server database.

This setup worked fine when IIS and the SQLServer DB were on the same NT server. However, we've added an NT Server, and separated IIS and SQL Server. Now, when I the web site tries to access the SQL DB, the first time the connection is attempted (ie, user password validation via the web - looking up password in SQL table), the connection times out. Every attempt after that works though.

I started off by creating a System DNS on the NT Server running IIS. When I had the first time connect problem utilizing that method, I created DNSless connections in the ASP pages for the web site. It gave me the exact same results.

I don't have much experience with IIS, or DNS creation. Can somebody offer suggestions?

Thanks!
