Mike, thanks for your reply, and I have had a look at the threads you suggested and found them very helpful.

This is the only thing that I am left outstanding... is there any way round this ... did'nt something about being able to compile and run code at runtime come in SP3 of VFP6 ? I'm wondering is there any way to leverage this so that I can take a block of code and run it at run time ?
