>>Ever since I have moved to Window 2000, if the O/S crashes - yeah it does even though its not supposed to - for any reason, any open VFP form, and any form whihc HAS BEEN open since the last reboot is trashed. When I look at the SCT file with a text editor, it looks like the file has been overwritten with an single ASCII character. (I haven't looked at it with a heax editer to see which character)

John,

At least someone esle has this problem, so I know I'm not alone. <g>

I haven't noticed FPTs gettng dumped, but FRTs do. And you are correct that VFP neededn't be open. Just have been opened and have edited or run a form or report, since the last reboot. Once rebooted, it seems to clear whatever buffer is being help open. I suspect that when a temp file of some kind is found open, Win2K "cleans" it up, and as a side effect, "cleans up" the orignial also. I am using a binary backup tool fom Aladdin called "Flashback", which helps a lot, as I can recover the last save, but is still a major bug in VFP/Win2K. I just can't figure why it only happens to some of us.

Thanks for the reply
