See the KB article on my web site.

>Secondly in our current version when someone purchases the software they get an encrypted file along with the software which contains the information about the user, the options purchased, and the number of users. We were thinking of issuing a code key/ serial number which specifies the options purchased, and the number of licenses. Any inputs on how this is done, will be appreciated :). Also what are the pros & cons of storing this information in a file versus in the registry?

That should work fine. If stored in the registry, you'll need to run the routine on each PC, so a file on the server may be a better solution. Also, run some type of integrity check on the file to make sure it hasn't been tampered with.
