That's great that you got it to work. One book to consider is called "The CGI/Perl Cookbook" by Craig Patchett and Matthew Wright. It's packed with information about CGI programming, including example applications, and a CD. Matthew Write is a well-known CGI programmer, and many of his classic scripts are included and explained (in detail) in the book.
