Me too. No harm in waiting a little bit. I'm all for promoting the free sharing of ideas and the FoxPro community over the years has probebly done this better than most - led by the example of the late Tom Rettig. However, Tom also copyrighted his work in order to protect it as well. It was his to give or not give.

Pinnacle has the right to their compilation and the various writers also retain their rights (unless they legally relinquish them) as well. My hope is that Pinnacle will realize that by allowing someone to translate the work into another language they will gain marketshare.

Let's be honest, there's not a whole lot of $$ that is going to come from the Eastern block countries right now and these are good hardworking folks who deserve a break and apparently are willing to do what it takes to help their community. I say to Pinnacle that if they can at all they should allow this to proceed, retain the right for future stuff as the market grows and in the meantime do everything to lend a helping hand to those good folks who are doing the real groundbreaking work oer there.

That said I would remind folks that this is my personal opinion and has no legal bearing whatsoever on the issue. John, Pinnacle, you and I have every right under our laws to protect our work. My hope is that some sort of working solution can be arrived at so all benefit.

Grigore has my total support and I wish the very best in his endeavors in helping his neighbors.

Best,

DD
