I wrapped it in a transaction and set the isolation level to serialized.

However, one thing still confuses me. Using SQL Passthrough, every transactable command (update, delete, insert) is automatically wrapped in a transaction. If you choose automatic, VFP does it for you and if you use manual, you select when to commit transaction. If VFP is already putting it in a transaction, how does that effect SQL Server transactions? Do they become nested?
