>Sorry, I have to agree with Mike. We design screens for PEOPLE to use. And the people around here tell me they want the Enter key to work as they have always used it. To be honest, I don't think I've run across anyone yet who automatically heads for the TAB key and that does include people who never worked in DOS, including my husband ("Why is there a screen saying 'E:>' on the computer?" "Just type 'EXIT'"

That's what I get for not being sarcastic enough. I'm all for Enter being the "entry done" key, that's why it's there. I've had all sorts of heavy data entry screens where the users would use only the right hand to key the numbers in, and they needed their left hand to keep track of the paper they're typing from. Those ladies typed at extreme speed and accuracy - and if I were to see them today and tell them they'd better stop using Enter and switch to Tab, I would probably lose the beard, if not something worse.

So, if anyone's already collecting some money for the contract on the head of the guy who said "enter will close the window and tab will exit the textbox", just tell me where do I send my $.02
