It's a little complicate to explain this whole process but in short if I could find a function or variable that could tell me:

If the record onto which i'm positioned is a new record ?

If this new record has been saved ?

With these 2 variables or functions I think I would manage what i'm tryoing to achieve.

The GetfldState() doesn't cut it in this case John ... thanks just the same for the suggestion.
