I have an application where I need to inform the user that something needs attention.

2 questions:

1) I have installed the sample sound player control that comes with VFP under solutions and it seems to work fine. However I would like to extract only the needed parts to play a sound on demand. That is I would like a control or prg that only has the code needed to play a sound. The sample is very large and I believe also plays vidio. Does anyone know if there is something that will do this? I tried to extract only the needed code but I guess I missed a few things.

2) After I installed the app on one PC I got a message saying something about THE MCI IS NOT INSTALLED or something like that. Is there a way to check to see if the Media Control Interface is installed? If it isn't then I can give the user a messagebox in place of the sound.

I tried using search here and under files but looking for sound player brings up a lot of unrelated items.
