I'll provide what I can . . .

I think #4 was answered in my original post . . . I do want to take an "older" file and "add" the deltas to get the newer file and I also want to take the newer file and "subtract" the deltas and get the older file.

Both files would have the same "structure", but these wouldn't be tables. They could be files of any type, but, of course, the files being compared would always be the same type.

Not sure what you mean by multiple copies. I only want to keep an "original" and then all the deltas.

I'm not sure I could write something. This can be a very complex issue. A bit more rocket science than I have the time for.

Please let me know your thoughts on how to do this.

Thanks,

Russell

>>Does anyone know of some code that will compare two files and save the deltas between them. I'd like to pass it two files and have it create a file of the deltas between file one and two. I'd also like to be able to take the older file, apply the deltas, and get the newer file. Likewise, I'd like to take the newer file subtract the deltas and get the older file. I believe Visual Source Safe might do this via COM, but don't want to have to require the user to license VSS. Anybody know of an ActiveX control or DLL that might do this?
