A client of mine has been running just over a year on Linux/Samba servers. They run FPD2.5 and VFP5 apps against data stored on them. Clients are W95, W98 and NT4. No problems to speak of. They have about 15 users. However, they are a school photographer, they push a lot of digital images around... their biggest server is up to something like 240GB now.
