It gets initialized from the data in the table if the data is something the checkbox can consume (1,0,.T., or .F.).

>Eric gave some good advice that works, but if I understand what's going on, the underlying table bound (to the control and/or the column) is updated automatically when using a checkbox. If that's the case, the control would almost always need to be given an initial value when used for something like setting conditions for data retrieval.
