This has nothing to do with vfp, but then this is the chatter topic, so here it goes...
I just got a new notebook, a toshiba portege 7200 which only has a USB port. You can get serial/parallel/ps-2 keyboard and/or mouse by carrying an additional gadget they call Expansion bar.
On a table I would have no problem connecting a regular usb mouse to it, but when I'm using it on the road (mostly on a bed), I would like to use an old serial trackball that I have, which is serial.
BUT I don't want to have to attach the Expansion Bar to do this.
The latest MS USB mice come with an adapter that allows you to connect a usb mouse to a ps-2 port.
Then, older ps-2 mice had an adapter to connect them to serial ports.
Is it possible to get or even build my own serial to usb adapter?
I figure that if you can convert a ps-2 mouse to serial with just an adapter, and a usb mouse to ps-2 the same way, there must be some equivalence between serial and usb ports.
Thanks for any clues!!!!
