>>>Is there a simple way to convert either a report form's layout data, as held in the forms actual .frx/.frt data files produced using the visual 3.0 report designer tool, into the layout data as held in the .frx/.frt data files used by the 2.6 report designer tool?
>>>
>>>I need to be able to have reports designed originally under 3.0 also be run and "redesignable" under 2.6; say we do not have to bite the bullet and do the whole job over from scratch in 2.6.
>>>
>>>Aaaaahhh! I hope there is a way. BTW: whoever heard of "downgrading" while everyone else is busily "upgrading" :))) There are plenty of suggestions in the UT data basse for going from 2.6 to 3.0 and 5.0 but I have not found any for going the other way. Hope y'll can help.

>>>TIA. /psb.

>Well, of course v3.0 is OOP and has fields in its frx for oop parameters and functions so its version of the .frx contains fields that do not appear in v2.6. However, there is nothing in the reports that need to be run under 2.6 that would conflict here - ie. no oop objects, per se, are involved. So I thought of trying appending data from the v3.0 frx file into a blank v2.6 file to see what would happen but then I thought ... why not ask on UT to see if any one out there has done this and that's where I am at at the moment. Thanks though, Dave, for giving it your consideration; maybe someone else has tried and will share their experience. /psb.

forms and data are more oop, but menus, reports and labels have no noticable change
