Why not use a view which has a Logical field (for the checkbox) and only the other fields that will show in the grid plus the ID field. Open this view in the Form INIT() and use it to populate the grid. Then after users have updated the grid checkboxes you can use the ID field for editing in the second form.

However, populating a view for hundreds or thousands of records may take a long time. How many records will your users be choosing from? Is there any way to logically limit their choice so fewer records will show in the grid?
