>I don't agree here Denis. If the law was removed, do you really think that we would hear no more Isabelle Boulay, Kevin Parent, les Colocs, Beau Dommage, Jean Leloup, etc. on the radio on the next day? I don't think so. Radio stations play what the listeners want to hear. French artists have taken their spot in our culture. Sure, there will be less french artists on the radio, but the one that won't play won't be missed all that much by many of us (will you really miss Kathleen?). The one's that survive only because of that law don't deserve to be musicians in the first place, IMHO.
>If there are no rules forcing radio stations to play french music what will be the language of choice heard in radio stations? Why would any radio station bother to play french songs because english music is more popular in the world than french music.
Sure we would still hear songs from the more popular artists/bands but it would become harder for new artists/bands to be heard.
