I have a VFP6 app that runs in many locations. Most have NT servers or a small system of networked computers. Two locations have a Novell system.

With the data on the Novell server and the app on workstations, we are getting a 'too many files' error when the app begins. All the tables are opened at the beginning of the app to check for any table corruptions, then closed and opened as needed. This app has a great number of tables, which means even more files. I know nothing about Novell. The app runs fine on all the other systems.

The Novell guy at one place set the max files per connection up to 500, which should be way more than the app needs, and we still got the error.

Any ideas?
