I have encountered the situation a couple of times where the application cannot be shutdown because attempting to close tables caused more errors. Trapping the error and trying to close made the application appear to freeze.

I was about to present you with a scenario where the error could not be trapped, but I can't seem to get the error at all with Windows 2000. The closest I can come is to use a table, make some changes, pull the plug, and try to close VFP- but with Win2K, I no longer get "error reading file", I get a Windows error saying something about delayed file writes failing. VFP closed down fine. Strange.
