Maybe following my advice and checking the registry; the error you're getting sounds like the wrong CLSID and ProgID mappings. YMMV, I try to check things differently than you do apparently.

BTW, you have a major problem here - not all systems have the OCX in the directory C:\WINNT\System32 - Win9x won't have a WinNT folder hierarchy IAC, so I think you'd better be a bit more methodical about things.
