Why coulnd't it still be bound even if it is in a container. Set the Bound property of the Column to .F. and then during the initialization of the Grid, set the ControlSource of the Column.Container.Checkbox explicitly. Wouldn't that work?
FWIW, I believe someone (possibly Jimmy) asked about centering a checkbox in a Column. The advice was to put it in a container and center it there.
