The tabStrip control isn't a Container control. I suggest that you used the "Microsoft Tabbed Dialog Control" which is in fact, a control given to MS by Sheridan. A lot easier to use.

To put a control inside a container, select the control in the control toolbox, click into the container, drag to the desired dimension and release the mouse button. This way, the control will be inside.

Another way, is to place a control on the screen, select it, cut it, select the container control, and paste.
