We normally use VFP database as our initial database. Afterwards, we create an equivalent SQL Server database (upsizing or not) at least identical table fields. We separate RV DBC so that we just change the driver if we decide to change the database backend. Majority of the commands we are using are ANSI SQL so that when changing backend, there is just a little modification - ofcourse with the objective of "no changes" - in code as much as possible.
