Just stating for the record that most VFP'ers would cringe at the thought of removing macro-substitution from the product. I have been involved in many of these dicussions with many developers. Again, it is usually in the context of wanting a compiled language. You then tell them they would have to give up macro-substitution. After they ponder for a moment, they realize they cannot live with that proposition.

Mind you, I think it is more of a matter of being able to think outside the box. There are other ways to deal with the lack of macro-substitution. The VB folks have been able to do this.

The fact is, is is not often requested to have macro substitution removed from the product. And, when it is, once the requestor realized what it is he/she is asking for, they retract the request.

As for the personal aspects of your post, they get the attention they deserve - none..< s >...
