I'm trying to figure out the best way to send email confirmations from my foxpro app. Presently we go through a very manual process of exporting the packages shipped. Then import them into an email merge program Aureate Group Mail and send the confirmations to the entire database one at a time.

I've been planning on automating Outlook to send the confimations. Are there any good Outlook automation examples out there?

One technical point that I can't figure out is, presently I send both a text and HTML version of my message in one email, depending on the capabilities of the email client of the recipient, the HTML doc is opened, otherwise the text version. And in both of these documents I need to insert the UPS tracking number, order #, etc.

Is outlook the right tool for this job or is there something better?\
