It may be that your requirements are such that the Session Class isn't needed (yet). Hopefully, my friend John Koziol, who wrote this, may be able to elaborate further.
FWIW, installing SP3 (or now SP4) is well worth the trouble. It resolves a number of issues, and includes the Session object.
