I think your take on .NET is interesting.

I was expecting MS to make it look a lot like COM+. You know MTS "Packages" became COM+ "Applications" will become .NET "Assemblies". I can forsee an MMC .NET snap-in with a similar look.

Even though the technologies are very different, I think MS will make them look very similar so that the migration path doesn't appear so frightening.
